like a sister

We first met over 50 years ago when Norm brought you to Milwaukee to meet his family. We loved you from the start. After you and Norm were married, we did many things together like celebrating holidays, camping vacations out West, cross country skiing weekends, and even a trip to Europe. We always had such fun and now have many very special memories. It was Wunderbar!!!! We never lived in the same town so when we got together we would stay up til the wee hours talking. It was not unusual to see the sun rise and the birds singing. We shared births, weddings, funerals and shed tears of happiness and sadness. It was always good to have a tissue handy. You are an EXTRAORDINARY sister-in-law who has been more like a sister. We Love You,
Lois & Steve

masked beauties hold up Kirby's, steal hearts

Remember when we held up Kirby's on our way to our bowling costume party? We would never get way with that now... we would be spending the night in jail! Wasn't it fun though?

wicked

Let's take another trip to Oz - otherwise known as "Sin City". Young Dorothy is not as innocent as we have been led to believe. And what's that glint in Toto's eye? The Cowardly Lion begs for a good swat on the tail from the Wicked Witch. The Tin Man finds a heart just in time to fall for the Scarecrow. What will become of Glinda the Good Witch and her fetish for yellow brick?

Coming soon to a theater near you...

W.W.B.A

Remember our trip to Milwaukee on the train to bowl in the W.W.B.A. for Lasee's Bar? That was more than 50 years ago. Wow... that is hard to believe. We were so young.

memories of laughter, sorrow and Lenny the Lobster

Dear Mary,
We have shared many experiences over the past 25+ years. The “ding bat trio” era brings back memories of fun and laughter. Thanks for teaching me to quilt. It has become an important part of my life. All the fun times at choir practice. And of course don’t forget the parties. Finding the perfect birthday present, especially “Lenny the Lobster” who has become our traveling mascot.
Most of all, thank you for the love and support during Larry’s illness. That was a painful journey and you helped carry our burden. We have shared many joys and sorrows over the years as we traveled life’s journey. May your birthday be a great celebration of a life well lived. Seventy years of generous love and concern for others is an inspiration for all of us. God bless.

Love, Shirley

P.S. I love your red coat.

Piggy Grandma to White Grandma

Dear White Grandma,
I have been enjoying your birthday blog! What fun! Isn't it also wonderful to share? You and I share some very special gifts from God. Those gifts are our precious granddaughters, Katie and Erin. I can't think of anyone I would rather share them with!! We also share a very special girl named Kathy who brings much joy into both of our lives. Have a wonderful birthday, dear friend, and I wish you a very happy 70th (it's the "new" 50) and MANY, MANY more!

Love,
Piggy Grandma

o mother, where art thou?

To my extraordinary mother,

Today is Mother's Day.

A day to remember all of the moments, big and small, that make a lifetime of mother love - bandaged knees, chocolate chip cookies. wedding dresses, quilts, house-cleaning, phone calls, car trips, being together.

A day to say the most important things - thank you, you are my hero,  I can't imagine my life without you.

A day to celebrate those who take care and make us whole.

I love you.

Pat-a-cake

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man.

Bake me a cake as fast as you can;

Pat it and prick it and mark it with B,

Put it in the oven for baby and me.
